Matchday 25
Kaizer Chiefs v TS Galaxy
Peter Mokaba Stadium
Polokwane, South Africa
Saturday, 5 April 2025
Kick-off is at 19:00 CAT
Kaizer Chiefs will be looking to keep their top eight hopes alive in the Betway Premiership when they lock horns with TS Galaxy at the Peter Mokaba Stadium on Saturday evening.
Chiefs are wounded after losing 2-1 to Golden Arrows last weekend, with head coach Nasreddine Nabi admitting that the team is not in a good position at the moment.
As the poor results continue to mount, it is becoming more unlikely that the Soweto giants will catch up with the teams above them in the league.
“To change the situation, we need two things. We need patience and better squad depth in the team,” said Nabi.
“I am worried if the team plays badly. At this moment, I am worried, but this is not the problem for Kaizer Chiefs overall.”
As for the Rockets, the Mpumalanga outfit lost against Marumo Gallants at home in their last match and will also be aiming to pick themselves up to secure a finish in the top eight.
Rising star Khulumani Ndamane is becoming a household name as he continues to shine for TS Galaxy, having joined from Kaizer Chiefs.
He also caught the attention of Bafana Bafana coach Hugo Broos and was called up for the World Cup qualifiers recently. Unfortunately, he was unable to join the camp due to not having a passport at the time.
“I arrived at Chiefs in August 2023, and I was on trial. They took me, but I started playing in the Under-19 for Chiefs,” Ndamane told FARPost, opening up about his stint with AmaKhosi.
“So I played at U-19, in 2024, and I was promoted to the DDC in the middle of the season. I think they had played only nine games, then I played all the 21 remaining matches.”
Another former Chiefs player who plies his trade now for Galaxy, Keagan Dolly has made strides since joining the Mpumalanga outfit, with the club planning on him joining the coaching staff following his retirement.
The 32-year-old joined the Rockets this season as a free agent and has made an impact, already scoring twice.
Former Galaxy players Bernard Parker and Vuyo Mere are also part of the club’s coaching set-up and management seem keen for Dolly to follow in their path.
